1. What is netAdventist?

netAdventist is the name of the easy to use web software offered by the General Conference to all divisions to use as their website management platform. The Web Ministry department of the Adventist Media Network is managing the rollout of this platform in the South Pacific Division.

2. What is the cost?

The SID is committed to this project. All costs are cover by the SID.

3. We already have a website. What happens to us?

If you have a fully functioning, regularly updated local church website - Congratulations! Churches in this situation are still able to try out the netAdventist software. At some point every website needs to be reviewed in terms of cost, technology, appeal, ease of use etc and we'd love for you consider netAdventist. No one will force you to use the new website; however we see great advantages in developing a shared framework where church, ministries, administration offices, and schools can integrate information and communicate with the public and each other.

4. When can I set up a website using netAdventist?

NOW! Register with us and you will be given a generic web template, with a unique username and password so you can login and customise it according to your needs.

5. Can I have my own design?

Yes! You can create your own custom design. Visit here.

6. What will be our website address?

The conventional format for URLs will be http://[entity name].adventisthost.org. for example http://kellyville.adventisthost.org or http://tuiridgepark.adventisthost.org. . These URLs are free.

NOTE: There is no WWW

If you have an existing URL, you can certainly keep using it, or use the new one we supply - the choice is yours. If you would like a new address altogether you will need to purchase it. Contact us and we can give you more details. The big advantage of a standard format for URLs is, it will be easy to remember any church website.

7. What happens if we don't have anyone in our church who is equipped to do this?

Firstly, it is important to recognise that the software developed by netAdventist makes it very, very simple for any novice to do simple updates such as add events or news. Ideally many members, especially ministry leaders will be able to input content into your website. This will become a major communication tool for your church and therefore it is worth developing the skills of your members.
In saying that, each church, no matter how small, has be given a basic site. We are expecting churches to customise their site and make it uniquely their own. These sites will be automatically updated with information from other sites such as the Adventist News Network, Signs of the Times etc. through what we call "live feeds". So in fact, even if no one does anything, your site will still be kept fresh and more importantly, people can find out about you.
If your church website has incorrect information and you have no one to correct it, contact us.

8. Who do we turn to for help?
Firstly, view the material on our netAdventist documentation page. If you can't work it out yourself, contact us.
